Rules and Regulations

The main purpose of these rules is to safeguard the common interests of all users and to enable the Library to carry out its functions as efficiently as possible. The following rules should be observed by all library users.

1. Only authorised or registered users will be allowed to use the library.
2. Unauthorised borrowing will be treated as theft.
3. Smoking, drinking and eating are not allowed in the library.
4. Briefcases, bags, and parcels must be deposited at the baggage area.
5. All library material must be handled with care.
6. Loss or damage to library material will be charged at twice the market price plus 50% administrative costs.
7. Loss of library material should be reported immediately.
8. Users with laptops must declare them when entering and leaving the library.
9. Silence must be maintained in and around the library the library.
10. Cell phones should be put on silent mode. A fine will be charged to users who answer cell phones in the Library.
11. Library users must show their student / staff identification cards when entering the library.
12. Library materials are not to be re-shelved by the user.
13. All users must clear all dues with the library on leaving the university.
14. The Library will suppress results for students with outstanding Library fines and / or lost books.
